No longer receiving email notifications

Hello!

So, I'm no longer receiving any email notifications to PM messages from friends on GD. I'm not sure why, as I always used to and have not manually changed any settings. What can I do to change this?

Go to User CP > Edit Subscriptions And check that your options there are what you want them to be (Instant notification) And then check Edit Options for whether it says for Default Thread Subscription Mode that you are set to Instant email notification.

If those two are right, check your email and spam folder / settings.

Thanks for the response. I've checked my setting here a few times now, and they are all as they should be. Never seen any GD messages in my junkbox, and all GD correspondence is with 'depp.davenport...', no? That is on my safelist, anyway.

I checked and can't see anything in your settings that suggests you wouldn't be getting emails, assuming your email address is correct. You can try asking an admin (Rachie or depp) but the site info says you should be getting them, so other than it being something to do with your email I don't really know, sorry. I'm still getting emails from the site so everything should be working.

I never received pm notifications. Not that I get any pms ever though

Are you set to remain logged in?
This can cause emails not to be sent I believe..

Have you checked your Spam mail? I sometimes get a situation where my notifications start going into my Spam folder, so I just mark one as not spam and everything starts going back into my inbox

I haven't been receiving the emails regarding receiving a PM that I was sure I had it set as. Not email for threads, just PM's. It doesn't really bother me, but I've just wondered. I also do not believe I have it set to remain logged in, but I could be wrong.

I don't know if the OP has managed to fix it, but others are probably having the same issue (I did - I forgot my password and was only able to log in via my phone which had saved it.)

If you've got this problem it's probably to do with your email account rather than gd.
Make sure '@getdare.com' is on your safe senders list and not your blocked senders list (this will vary depending on your email but for hotmail/outlook users:
Go to settings (it's the little cog wheel sitting at the top right)
Go to options
Under 'Preventing junk emails click on 'safe and blocked users'
Go to safe senders and add @getdare.com and [email protected] to the list
Then click back and go to blocked senders. If @getdare.com or [email protected] are on the blocked senders list remove them.)
This should fix it.
A way to check is to make sure you are set to get email notifications when you receive pms. Then send yourself a pm. Once it has popped up in your gd inbox, check your email.
