I have to write 120 lines about not wanking - Wife asked me to post here to request the line to write "I must not...."

Well... I think the severity of the line should depend on how many times you have been punished for this offence.

1st time: I must not wank without permission.
2nd time: I must not wank without the express permission of my wife.
3rd time or more. I must learn that I am not to wank without the express permission of my wife and mistress.

4th time, do the above line, however each letter must be an alternating color.(That really sucks.... I know from experience)

Have fun. Just to give your wife another idea that my wife had done in the past... having a rule that you can only write your lines when your are flaccid...

It can be incredibly frustrating, especially when combined with an evil rule for every minute it takes you to finish the lines will equal a hour... day or what ever increment of her choosing in chastity.

She asked if you thought at physical punishment might also be appropriate and a suggestion for one?

That all depends on what turns you on. For me physical punishment in the way of spankings is not a punishment at all, it is a funishment. Unless it is delivered in a very specific way.

If you dislike pain then it may be a good punishment. Or.. even if you do like pain, finding a way to administer it that you don't like changes it up. For example in my case I HATE the electric fly swatter. Being forced to hit myself with it is a very effective punishment.

If you enjoy writing lines and it is a turn on, then that would be an ineffective punishment because you are enjoying the outcome.
