Scary Movies
What is the scariest movie you have seen and why do you consider it the scariest? What about it scared you?
For me: Requiem for a Dream It is psychologically dark and it was the first time I had ever curled up in a blanket during broad daylight. It freaked me out beyond reason. I couldn't even watch it all. (Note: if you do want to watch this, DO IT DURING THE DAY!!!!!) So....how about you?

Saw II... It was not only the best horror ever concieved, it basically gave me insomnia. It's undescribable... especially because one of the specific scenes involving needles hit me rather hard... (Needle Trauma + Needle Scene = O_O)

I kinda laugh at most, like the Grudge... the sound, omg... that made me laughing the whole movie.
But Requiem for a Dream, yes, that is freaking amazing!

I'm afraid to watch the last twenty minutes. I watched it with a friend and we were both freaked out.

I don't know. Movies don't really scare me too much because they are fake. I don't believe in ghosts/monsters/all those made up things. I guess there's always real life creepers. o.o
I hate movies with excessive gore, which is why I won't watch anything like Saw. It makes me want to throw up. I don't understand how any of that is entertaining or scary. Humanity is sick sometimes. Annnnnnnnyways, movies did scare me when I was a kidlet. Usually ones involving monsters because I had a lot of irrational fears.

All of them, to me, are just silly or gory gross. Like sweetsong, I don't believe in ghosts, monsters, etc. And people are just sick, not scary.
The only thing that would seem scary is one with demons, demoniac possession, etc (the only "monster" or spirit that I believe). But, I'm Christian. So, demons have no power over me. So, why should I be scared of them? |

You can't possibly be telling me to pick just one o.o I watch ALOT of scary movies. I enjoy them far more than any other genre, but there are SO many sub-genres to horror. So I'll take some of those and pick my favorites from them ^-^
If anyone has any recommendations for me, PLEASE let me know. I love discovering new and awesome horror stuffs. Most Psychologically Disturbing The French film Martyrs. This movie made me physically hurt when I watched it and has caused me to look at horror very, very differently. I was scared, but I went through sooo many different emotions throughout this film. Best Creepy and Suspenseful Movie Alien...DUH. I seriously doubt I have to explain this. Goriest This would be a toss up between the two French films Inside and High Tension. Both are so bloody and nasty...But have other great horror elements to them. Really, French horrors > any other. Best Scary...But also funny and gross. The cautionary tale of Teeth. Personally I thought this movie was more funny than scary, but anyone with a penis would probably argue with that. Best Zombie Movie Peter Jackson's Dead Alive. This movie was HILARIOUS. Even though you can see that the special effects are pretty old, it still manages to scare you and gross you out entirely. Best Serial Killer Based Movie Silence of the LambsAgain...Do I even have to explain this?!?! Best Indie/Foreign Film That Makes You Go '...WTF??' The Hungarian film Taxidermia. I can't even begin to describe this movie. It made me sick, made me laugh, creeped me out, but mostly made me go...WTF??? Best Asian Horror A very hard choice, but I'd have to go with A Tale of Two Sisters. It's a bit slow moving at times, but you have to pay attention. It has an awesome and unexpected ending to it and some awesomely suspenseful moments. Best Film That Preyed on a Personal Fear A bit corny, but Frozen scared the shit out of me. I'm afraid of heights...So being stuck on a skii lift...Not cool.

Scariest film I probably watched was some of the Excorcists but I watched them when I was like 10 so maybe they are not as scary as I percieve them to be.
Paranomal Activity was scary in a way but again I watched it at like 3am during a thunderstorm with my house creaking more than usual

However, I'd have to go with Saw 1 as my favourite. (Ranking from fave to least fave, of those I've seen thus far: 1, 3, 2, 4) |

Creepshow 2 "The Raft"
That glob in the lake was the only thing to scare me when I was younger. As for any other movies either made me laugh or was just boring. But now even that one just creepy not much else. |
