Nothing. I don't see the point in denying myself something I like. Life is for living and it's not a dress rehearsal!

Lent is a church created thing where they tell you you should give up something for the 40 days. However, you should give up something a few times here and there throughout the years of your life. That doesn't mean you should give it up permanently. It's your choice how long you want to give something up for.

Anyway, the purpose of giving something up is that you are willing to admit that nothing is more important than God. And you shouldn't focus on any one thing more than God.

Or you can give up things for a healthier life, or to save money, or to lose weight, or just for a bit of a challenge

Yeah, somehow I really wanna give up on a lot of things myself, like first, E.D's. Then, smoking. Fags, because a joint at some party, once in a while has never killed anyone. As long as it's not everyday, and worse, all alone, etc.

Plus I'd like to finish my novel, or at least the first part, start doing some exercise, like an hour a day or something, and lead a healthy life. Because I feel like my body is giving up on me and I don't like it, at all. When you want to do something, you feel like doing it, but your health stops you from doing it. uh!

So I'd say, I'm trying to get rid of my E.D's, and reducing my amount of cigs per day. =D

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! =D

I was going to give up soda, but I received some that I couldn't finish the weekend before Ash Wednesday, so I am giving up beer (even though I don't drink so a better incentive not to start). And Loke, the Church's reason why people give stuff up for Lent is so that we can hold restraint or something like that (anyways, that is what our Priest said last Sunday)

I've never believed in taking away someone else's freedom. Lent is, essentially, a large scale removal of freedom - even if you do get the choice of what it is.

If I want to give somethin' up, I'll do it. But for myself, not for any tradition or social obligations. =)

So for people who want to be pedantic: I'm giving up nothing for lent.
