RPGs
So, how many of you like to play tabletop RPGs?
I'll start. I DO! I have played D&D 1st ed, 2nd ed, 3rd ed, and 4th, ed. Currently playing Pathfinder. Have tried Marvel's RPG from the 80s. Also once tried Rifts (never again!) and have done Shadowrun. ... I think that is all the ones I have tried... |

((starts counting on fingers)) D&D editions from the blue and white pamphlets through 3.5, Marvel, DC, Top Secret, Gamma World, Rifts with most of its add-ons, Shadow Run, Mech Warrior, and probably more than I remember.

I forgot about MechWarrior! Tried that a few times. lol It was fun, too. Didn't realize that DC made a tabletop RPG.

DC Heroes was sort of short lived, but a lot of fun. Very customizable character creation process, but that meant increased complexity, so it didn't catch on.

The customizability and "randomness" of Marvel's RPG was one thing I *LOVED* about it. Miss playing it. Probably would have enjoyed DC's Heroes as well.

used to love too, but...
I no longer see anyone I used to game with, and those friendships fell apart after some pretty horrible backstabbing and betrayal. The kind of stuff that taints pretty much anything you associate, mentally, with that friendship (like all the gaming we did). Shadow Run, Star Wars (d6 and d20), 2nd, 3rd, and 3.5 DnD, d20 modern, pathfinder, and classic World of Darkness.

So many but no World of Darkness? =o I used to play lot of Mage the Awekening and Changeling the Lost, would play more if I had people to play with =p. Also Exalted 2e and two sessions of 3e. Sadly I've never played D&D ._.'

World of darkness is a series of games of urban fantasy with mages, vampires, werewolves, etc. Ever read The Dresden Files? Something like that, and more story driven than combat and loot driven.
Mage in particular I liked a lot because of the magic system, it's really open, you have no set spells, you have levels in spheres of influence and limits of what you can do, and create magic spells on the fly.

That sounds pretty sweet. I've read a couple of the Dresden Files and saw the series (all 1 season... Loved the series!). Sounds like it could be quite a bit of fun!

Crap! You're right, I completely forgot about the WoD! I'm going to have to start looking over my bookshelves and see what else I forgot...
