I've tried this a couple of times using a cotton bud and plenty of lube but I can't even manage an inch before it becomes too painful.

I have done it with a metal rod at a domme, and then at home I have a silicone toy that goes all the way up to the bladder, which is very arousing but I'm afraid of getting bladder infection. Then I've got a shorter but quite thick vibrating toy and that's fucking awesome!
