So... Saw? - Page 2

In concept it is fantastic,

My issue with it (it being the franchise) is, -

1. its gore porn, its gore for the sake of gore, a horror is a film that makes you scared because you don't know what is going to happen, Saw you don't even have to watch and you have an idea. See any Hitchcock and you will see what I mean.

2. THERE IS REALITY TV TO FIND A star FOR IT. If you are doing that they must be REALLY scraping the barrel. I think they might have even gone past the cruddy bits and are now actually just scraping bits of wood/plastic (depending what your barrel is made from.

The girl who won the most recent "Scream Queen" show has actually been snapped up to be a proper actress. I think she'll do well.

Personally, I don't have a problem with a show being made like that. I mean, we have reality shows for f**king everything else, so why not have a show to see who would be good in a movie?

(Btw, swearing wasn't aimed at you, just shows my general annoyance at all the other reality shows. Please don't take it personally.)

Just watched Saw II and, whilst I enjoyed it, I still think the first film was better. I love the way the films connect together and I love the twists they have...

...but I just prefer the feel of the first one.

It'll be a while now before I see Saw III coz I'll have to buy the DVD.

What I like most about the saw movies are the twisted timelines. You see people entering the same room from opposite side and the you realize that these things happend at different times.
Furthermore the series is not at all chronological. From movie to movie you jump around for past to present to future.

I was confused at first but I soon worked it all out. Since watching the first two, I've looked online and researched into the films.

Apparently there are hints in John's lair (Saw II) that prove the TV screens were just showing recordings. For example, the rope that Amanda finds is in his lair [even if it is hard to spot] and the "Father and Son" photo is behind John in several shots behind his desk. I'm gunna go back and re-watch to spot them, but I've got to commend them on their awesomeness when it comes to twists.

Another thing is in the syringe pit scene. In one shot of Amanda in the pit, you can see the locked door above her and if you look closely you can see an out-of-focus padlock with a key in it. Another touch of brilliance and subtle things like that really add to the cleverness and it also adds to the wonderful character of "Jigsaw".
