What do the member tags entail?

I've been around for a while and I just realized that I only have a vague idea what "Distinguished Member" means despite being one. I mean, I have a vague understanding that they represent time spent on the site and/or post count but ... beyond that I'm clueless. What are the hard numbers?


Also, a more specific question: what does being an Elite Member entail other than just changing the tag? The sticky post explained HOW to become an Elite Member, but not any particular reason as to why someone would want to.

Tags - are for search criteria, helps threads be found
Elite area - http://www.getdare.com/bbs/showpost....73&postcount=5

Becoming a different type of member - junior - senior - distinguished - banana etc refers to your post count (special prize for reaching the end)

Thanks, the "junior, senior, distinguished" is what I meant by tags though.
