Discrete spanking tips

I was wondering if anyone has any tips or experience on making spanking more discrete.

I very rarely have an empty house and have always been nervous about doing dares or rules involving spanking myself in case anyone hears. I'm not vocally loud or anything but it's hard to know how much people can hear and due to the repetitive short hit sounds, it would be difficult to explain the noise if anyone heard. I think a lot of it might just be paranoia which in fairness adds to the fun, but it's made me reluctant to try anything just in case, and for the next year I'm living with 5 friends whom I definitely wouldn't want to find out!

So I'm curious whether anyone else has had the same thoughts. Does anyone have experience of doing this with people in the next room and know how loud it actually is? Are there any techniques or particular implements you've found are quieter but can still give the same effect? Or do you just wait until there's no one around rather than risking it?

Using your bed blankets helps to dampen the sound,be hiding under them, it reduces your swing though. Putting on music or the tv to create another noise source as well would help further.
Using implements will likely make too much noise, perhaps a cane would make less noise, but a cane needs a good wind up.
