Sorry, perhaps I miss the point, but why should anyone be interested to track your slave without any interaction possible? I really don't care where she is or what she does if it isn't for control of any task or exercise I gave her....

I see a couple of ways this could be interesting:

First, some people get off on a loss of privacy. To know that someone is always watching you / that you cannot hide can get the juices flowing. I'll admit that I'm at a little bit of a loss for what the watchers get out of it on this front...but that's not uncommon for some folks in some kinks.

Second, the OP did mention the potential for meets. Even if they never happened (or were nothing more than coffee in a public place), that risk can be quite intriguing (even if the odds of any of us accidentally being in "the right place" are very, very low).

Third...some of us enjoy living vicariously. If someone doesn't want to take the risk themselves, they can at least pretend to be the slave and imagine what the experience might be like for her.... It's the same principle as to why some people like porn, after all.

Hmmm.... I try to follow your thoughts but I still don't agree.

1st. A loss of privacy as you call it can only take place if someone knows what you do when you are at a certain place. Now just knowing where someone is doesn't tell you anything. For example, a person might not change her/his place for 7 or 8 hours. That could mean
- he/she is sleeping
- he/she is working
- he/she is visiting a friend and stays there
- he/she is at university/school
So you are not invading anyones privacy by knowing a location but by knowing the occupation. Or would it excite you to watch someone not moving (because he/she sleeps) at a distance of 6000 km? Well, me neither....

2nd. The chance of meeting. As I don't even know on which continent the slave lives (or her master), not talking about a country, a region or a city, this potential meeting remains - largely unlikely. I live in Berlin, Germany, and please believe me, I wouldn't travel even 10 miles to see a slave drink coffee with her friends, pass by, say "Hi, I tracked you" and move on. I got better things to do in my life and I bet you too.

3rd. It was not her but her master posting. So she is already a (his) slave and doesn't live vicariously as you call it. So you can only mean the "watchers". But - they watch nothing (like in the porn you mentioned). They know nothing of the slave, they have no idea where she lives, they don't know what she does or why she is at a certain place. That reminds me of a rather family safe form of porn - turn off the sound, switch the screen off and imagine you are watching porn.....

The main point I was trying to communicate (by sharing examples) is that different things "do it" for different people.

If doing location sharing via an app "does it" for master and/or slave...more power to them. And if being able to occasionally open up a map and see where folks sharing their locations are/were "does it" for others...that's OK too (assuming participation remains within the bounds of consent, at least)

It might seem silly or boring to many people for a slave/sub to share location 24/7 with their master/mistress/dom (and others), but if it floats their boat....is it really that much different from how the general public might find a self-bondage enthusiast's activities silly or boring?

That someone might find a certain kink activity silly/boring doesn't mean that it can't be fun/satisfying/worthwhile for differently-minded folks.

I'll admit that, even though loss of privacy is a kink that intrigues me, I took a peek and decided that this form of voyeurism wasn't going to hold my interest. But, I'd be lying if I didn't say that the app goes on my list of potential tools for if/when I have the opportunity to explore this kink, and I appreciate having had the opportunity to peek, if only to learn these things.

I'd also be lying if I didn't observe that I'm taking a road trip in a couple of weeks to that will take me near or through the slave's apparent area of travel. I could see where it would be...interesting...to have a couple of pins moving closer to one another on that map, and to consider the possibility of what might happen, even though that possibility almost certainly won't happen.
