How do you personnally get advice from getDare?

I love this site for a range of reasons. One of the main ones is that there is a large group of users who are experienced in M/s relationships and a lot of people who may not be experienced but who are still very intelligent and level headed.

A lot of my posts I make because I've had an interesting thought and I'd like to open it up to discussion (this thread being and example) occasionally though I come to the forums specifically for advice. I consider myself a relatively inexperienced Dominant and so accessing the wealth of knowledge possessed by my fellow getDare users when I'm unsure about something is how I get advice.

Lately I've had some users PM me and ask me personally for advice. Now I'm flattered and happy to help as much as I can but in my mind I wonder why they don't just start a thread.

I'm sure there are other methods of getting advice as well. So my question is this, how do you like to get advice from getDare and why do you pick that method over others.

As mentioned I like starting a thread. I'm not the most sociable getDare user so don't have many contacts. I know there are a lot of people on here that might be able to give me valuable input whom I've never spoken with. That's why I choose to use a thread, to get as many different sources of advice as possible.
