Crossdressing advice - University social!

Hi everyone,

Just looking for a bit of advice, I've got a uni social tonight in a nearby seafront town and the theme is cross dressing. I have never crossdressed and it means i have to go a charity shop to buy something.

What to buy? It's going to be cold (about 2/3 degrees) and a windchill. I was thinking skinny jeans (i already have and don't wear because they look too much like leggins) and dress of some-sort. What size do i go for? I am a mens L-XL (W34/36).

A bit worried what the till person is going to say so I was thinking of saying 'i hope its what my girlfriend wanted for her art project' or shrug it off saying 'what you do for uni socials'. Any better ideas?
