GetDare Movie Club?

Hello all!

So, I thought this might be fun, and haven't seen anything like it around already; if there is, my apologies.

Dead simple; once a week a film is picked to give everybody who wants in a chance to view. We then chat about it here while waiting for the next movie to be finished with.

Spoilers will happen, so if you don't want to know about things until you've watched the film, you may not want to look until another movie has been selected.

I thought it would be cool if we have an updating list, where people could put a movie title in the the end of their posts, or a PM or something. I'd put all films together in a blog entry where we can vote, roll a dice or whatever to select.

If anyone wants to join in with this, feel free to post. I'll choose randomly from the first five, sensible (if you want a porn review club you can start your own), movie titles I get.

Anyway, anybody up for it?

I'd love to do something like this. I love watching movies. I would suggest though that the movie should be on Netflix as a majority of people have it.

Thank you for posting, and glad to hear! Well, what I can do with a working list is check with others what titles are on Netflix, as I personally am not a member.

Do you have a title of something you'd like to see to get the ball rolling?

My vote this time around is the film 'Das Experiment', which I'm pretty sure is on NF.

Need five titles, people!

i love movies. i'd like to suggest memoirs of a geisha. i dont have netflix, so cant say if it's on there, but i'll post a link to a site where you can watch it online, the site has alot if anyone is interested.

Hello crazydevil, thank you for posting, I'll add that to the list. I was thinking of increasing it to six titles, rolling a dice for the first one so that it's fair, then voting for others, if we get to that point.

Only three more titles to go! Feel free to add any more suggestions if you have any.

I love this film. The character development is complex, and overall it's an interesting historical and social account.

Maybe with Scarface it's because he sings 'I'm hot tonight?'

perky, i completely agree. i love historical fiction, but romance can be fun to watch to, and this was one of those rare movies where it had both but didnt go overboard on the romance as well.

strawdog, are we allowed to suggest multiple titles, or do we have to wait until you pick one to do that?

People can suggest as many titles as they like; I just held myself back as I'd like it to be a community thing, and also maybe pick up some films from other countries, or smaller scale ones that got lost in the hype of bigger fish.

If you have ideas, feel free to post them - I for one would love to hear.

I like historical movies, too! If you like historical with some romance, the Shogun series is pretty sweet.
