Well i just bought an itune card - from tesco for £15 and done lol

Don't even have a credit / debit card

You don't need a credit card to get apps

have you set it up with I tunes - and do you have internet access (off course) just lick APPS at the bottom right off home page (unless moved) and there are no end of free apps you can download
