It also depends on your local water pressure. In some places, "full blast" won't even move dirt on the walk. In others, full blast will take paint off the house.
Take the "full blast" part of the dare with a grain of salt, and opt for what is safe for you. I was going to say "painless", but I'm not sure that would apply in any case.
