What does it mean to ignore someone?

I feel like they can still stalk my blogs, posts, threads and if I remember right an ignored member could still send me PMs. So... What does it really do? Can I control what ignored members see? I am pretty sure I have a stalker and I just want them gone from my profile and posts

Honestly wish I could advise here, haven't had to do anything more than ignore unwanted messages on this site so far...but I know it's quite different for Women here, in that Men do sometimes to get creepy and obsessed!

All I can say, is if I was in this position and the current site options don't seem to do what I need I would report the individual to the Mods so they can take the appropriate action, this kind of behaviour should not be allowed on a site like this in my opinion!

If you change your profile privacy settings, you can limit what the people you have listed on your ignore list, can see. They will still be able to view your profile and blog homepage I believe, thus still appearing on the visitors list, but they won't be able to see much of anything.

You can also go to edit options and change who can pm you and leave visitor messages. You have it set so that anybody can do that, or so that only friends and moderators are able to contact you that way.

I hope that helps, and if it escalates, report your stalker.

They can stalk your posts and threads but they can't really see anything (unless quoted, I think), I wish they couldn't even tell you posted but, not much can be done about that.

They can still view your profile but I'd just change the setting to make it show as little as possible and more to your friends etc.

Most has been said already. Basically, users on your ignore list are treated as unregistered users in relation to the content you post (unless otherwise specified: see blog options). If you want to know what exactly they can see, log out and visit your profile page as an unregistered user.
