Word limit on s/m area
When posting a ad in the s/m area, I belive that a minimum of eg 500 words should be put on. As most may know that in other sections, it is 16 characters, so there should 500 words in this section.
Everyone does get annoyed with posts, add me on msn and ill be your mistress. So this would get better reviews and possibly more replies, just a suggestion. what do you think and maybe Depp could do something

Maybe 250 would be better. Not hugely long, but long enough to require sufficient information.
I agree with this suggestion |

Already suggested that in the "The Ads of Today" thread, i am quiet sure, that no one wants to read super short ads, only saying that someone is looking for a dom without any more information included.
Also this could be the easiest way to improve the post quality in the Ad section. |

More words in the post means that the poster isn't one of those one time noobs. Well, lessens the chances anyway.
I seriously LOL at some of the posts in the M/s Area though. So it'll be a bummer to see the limit go to use. Unless someone posts like Ringo Starr in my Avatar (The "I carn't spel" part). Good gosh. Hours of education wasted so someone can type like this... "ned slave mesg me" |

Any good dom however wouldn't respond to a poor sub's post and any good sub wouldn't respond to a "Need slave! Boobies!" kind of post. But I do like the idea. I am afraid however what might happen with the bad posts...

I think that this is a great idea if for no other reason than it should cut down on the number of inexperienced people replying because they don't know any better; no one is going to be foolish enough to reply to 250 words of absolute garbage, and it would be much easier to mod would people copypasting junk.
Alternatively have ads need to be approved by someone first and trashed if they're not properly written but I know phasing that in is already in progress. |

I agree on the 250 character minimum bit. 500 almost seems too long, but 250 would just be enough to cut out 85% of the ads that are currently in that forum.

I actually think that 500 would be much better than 250. 500 characters isn't much in itself, especially when you're supposed ot be posting a well thought-out/worded ad. I imagine you could get 250 from a short description of yourself (Name/Nickname, Age, Location, Sex, Webcam, etc...) and atleast another 250-300 from posting what your limits are, what you want in a master/slave, or dom/sub. I've done almost 330-400 with just one paragraph. So I think 500 isn't much to ask for when you're supposed to be 'selling yourself'.

I personally like the short, uninformative ads. They can be really helpful to know who NOT to contact
In the last 3 years we have tried many different ways to help improve the quality of postings in this section. There are about a dozen of threads on how to post a great ad, we used the rating system, replied to ask questions and give tips to those who we thought needed it. Nothing really worked except the ratings a bit. While raising the minimum requirement of words of characters in posts may seem like an interesting solution it has it's down side too. I like it if someone gives great informations & details not because they are forced to but because they are genuine and serious. It does tell me a lot about how really interested they are. I really do prefer rewarding those who do put an effort in their posts. I've seen a few members reply to them to give positive feedback which is great and I think we perhaps should try to use the rating system more again Just let be those who can't or won't put more efforts in their posts. Those posts usually fall down the pages rather quickly and if we post back to the good ones and use the rating system maybe a few of them will realize what they're not doing right and try to improve. |

I've volunteered before to personally moderate out the bad ads - and i'd like to take this opportunity to do so again.
Not based on a word- or character count but on a measure of content and intelligence, not going for outright deletion and ban but for a system of constructive criticism once, criticism a second time, and outright ridicule a third - though that's negotiable It'd only take a few moments to private-message the writers of poor ads to make suggestions on how they could improve their ads - moreover because the lion's share of these ads tends to be 'wrong' in the same ways - uninformative, uncommunicative, immature and lacking content... I could simply write a number of form letters, heh.

I myself like to take the time to look over the ads, and reply to the good ones (most of the time; not so often if it's copypasta) to say that the ad is good and wish them luck. (And help the ad stay on the first page, admittedly.)
