Report v. Reply

This is just a public service announcement.

The report button on the bottom left of this post (see below) is NOT how to reply to a thread.



If you would like to reply to a thread, please hit "post reply" or even press the "quote" button on the bottom right.

DO NOT PRESS REPORT and then say something like "I am in for this round", cause the only people who will see this, is us mods. And we honestly don't care if you are in or out.

The only time you should press the REPORT button is if you are reporting the post, member, blog, chat incident, for violating the rules, or you want to bring it to our attention for some other reason.

I know I shouldn't laugh but, as someone who moderates another set of forums, this really made me laugh a little too much (especially as the report system makes it pretty clear it's a report). The silliness of people isn't great at the best of times, I'd imagine it's worse when thinking with the wrong body part

I do hope people take notice though as moderating takes precious time that you often get very little reward or thanks for. Just wanted to take the chance to say thank you to Butterfly, Riskyflame and all the other mods for their work keeping this genuinely a nice site to visit. One of my concerns when joining was it'd all be a little seedy and pervy but (thanks partly to the mods) it's a welcoming community of open-minded people kept clear of trolls and other silliness.

Keep up the good work and I hope people follow your advice

Thank you! It does make it pretty obvious, but you would surprised how many times a day we get reports that should be replies. It doesn't take a lot of work to just ignore them, but it does make me shake my head and roll my eyes and that gets tiring :P
