Scissors Permanent hair removal experience

Hello all!

I've started to consider getting at least some body hair permanently removed, namely armpits and anus, but it doesn't matter. I would like people to share their experience with permanent hair removal.

If you were so kind to share these bits of information:
  • What procedure did you choose? (IPL, laser, ...)
  • Which body part did you get treated?
  • What is your skin and hair colour?
  • How many sessions did you need?
  • What is your overall experience?

Thank you for any replies!

I have tried at home IPL with a Philips Lumea Comfort, but unfortunately I can't give good news about that one. I followed the instructions religiously about doing it once every two weeks, and after about eight sessions I gave up, after barely seeing a difference and it being not very comfortable, really. It's not horribly painful either, just kind of annoying and slow.

I would have no problem with that if it showed results, but in my case, that wasn't the case. Fair skin, dark hair. Should have been a perfect subject for it. Bummer. Maybe it wasn't the best device? Maybe I shouldn't follow the official instructions and do it way more often than just once every two weeks. I really don't know. More replies on this thread would be very helpful to me too!

I tried shaving and sugar waxing but eventually gave up.

I read that laser hair removal causes cancer, so I decided to give it up. I use the old proven methods.

Laser hair removal contributes to cancer no more than your microwave oven. Due to the features of the devices that implement this procedure, the probability that you will have any tumors is as small as possible. So I used this service at the time and was completely delighted.
The most important thing is to choose a good specialist who has completed the courses nwcollege.edu. High-quality equipment in the hands of an inept person can harm you.
I have white skin, and it took me about 8 sessions. But it all depends on your individual characteristics.

Information Permanent hair removal - Laser

Seems like no one really answered the questions. I'll do my best to help.

What procedure did you choose? (IPL, laser, other?)

I had proper diode laser removal. Some beauticians refer to IPL as laser, but this is misleading, IPL doesn't target a hair follicle like laser, but it is quicker and cheaper (which is why many places use IPL). Laser is expensive though, so maybe get IPL first, just to test the waters?

Which body part(s) did you get treated?

At my consultation I was going in for legs and arm pits (I was mostly concerned with the pain in the pits as that's sensitive). After that, I had my pubic area done, and touch up of some minor bits and pieces.

What is your skin and hair colour?

Light skinned, with brownish hair. Unfortunately it's true, light blonde and grey/white hair can't be treated with laser.

How many sessions did you need?/How long does a session take?

If you're getting the pubic area done (which I'm assuming is why people consider laser), a session is around 20 minutes or so. How many sessions really depends on the amount of hair, but expect to be in for at least 6, but probably 8 (you can book in sessions in advance, might even save you money).

What is your overall experience?

The clinic sat me down and discussed everything in more detail than I wrote here, so you're going to have a better idea on expectations, preparation and after laser care. It's an involved process, you'll still be shaving beforehand, you'll be red, you'll be using lots of aloe, and although it's "permanent" you do need sessions after a few years to zap any new follicles. Up-keep is minor compared with the initial procedures.

I weighed up the pros and cons, waxing (microwaved heat strips) is time consuming, removal creme stinks like chemicals (and don't leave on too long!) and blades just suck and nick and the results aren't baby smooth.

I hope I've adequately answered the questions. But this is no substitute for a proper consultation with a certified technician.
Enjoy your silky smooth skin

I once dreamed of getting rid of unwanted hair. I had to undergo waxing procedures, laser depilation, and home ways to combat hair on the arms and legs. Someone told me that it is possible to remove hair and transplant it, not to separate these two procedures and use the opportunity to do everything at once. I went to https://goo.gl/maps/iS5HPMLozPDjZxrJ7 and forgot to ask them if transplants are possible. Has anyone tried this manipulation so that hair from body parts can be transplanted to the temple or back of the head?
