Debate: Minors in stories

Many of the truth or dare stories, if not most, involve characters who are under the age of 18. I can't help but wonder what type of person would take delight in reading, or writing for that matter, stories about two boys/girls having sex with one another because of a game of truth of dare. So I ask the question, do stories with underage characters encourage a pedophile friendly environment on getdare? If so, should action be taken against stories which are essentially sex stories involving minors?

And for the record, I am simply calling this idea into question. I have not stated any actual opinion or encouraged any course of action. I simply am seeking a debate on if these types of stories are appropriate for getdare.

This issue actually came up in the Supreme Court a few years ago - are stories depicting sexual acts between minors a violation of the law or not. The official ruling was that they are NOT in fact in violation of the law so long as they are entirely fictional stories. So in that sense, there doesn't seem to be reason for action to be taken.

As far as stories involving minors, there are a great deal of minors on this site. For obvious reasons, the majority of all things sexual to be found on the internet - stories, movies, etc - are told from the perspective of adults. Especially in the case of someone who is 13 or 14 years old, as many of the stories seem to be written about, people online at that age might be curious about these sorts of things in context to themselves, not in the context of 25 year olds. This probably contributes a lot to the stories written about underage people - they are written BY underage people.

Again, even if an adult writes a story about sexual activity between to children, it's not really pedophiliac behavior until he actually goes out and commits a physical act. Who knows, maybe the fantasy stories online are enough to keep someone with strong physical attraction to children at bay.

Ive been thinking the same thing for some time Peter. Personally I think something should be done to change things like that here. I know a site that was shut down by their service provider for having pedohilic depictions on their site. It turned out those depictions were jus storys like the ones we have here.

At the end of the day a story about 14-15 year olds written by a 15 year old is all fine and dandy, but a story about 14-15 year olds written by a 45 year old pretending to be a 15 year old isn't and could be used as grooming.

I personally think it depends on the age difference. I don't see a problem with an 18 or 19-year-old with, say, a 17-year-old but once said 19-year-old starts in on a 12 or 14-year-old then I agree, it gets gross. Perhaps you could put in a request that requires younger characters to be within two years of each other. (13 & 15, etc.) That will at least clean it up a bit.

As there are a lot more of the younger kids on here than I thought, it wouldn't be fair to completely eliminate stories depicting sex involving teens.

It wouldnt be fair for any of the adults on here to be investigated by the police for viewing 'pedophilic' content because a 14 year old wanted to write an unrealistic story about a 12 year old fucking a 14 year old..

Theres rules about how old you can be to be a slave, but personally I think those rules should extend to how old you should be to sign up for the site, to protect the older members of this site.

I missed the part where anyone said that was going to happen. Writing a fictional story in a forum is rarely going to lead to anybody being investigated by the police.

We have younger members on here too guys. Stories are for fun and lots of them bring this site traffic. Addmittedly not as much as the S/M section but younger members can't post there.

So dont think it matters. Just a reminder.

honestly whilst reading through the stories i completely ignore ages of characters and tend to imagine all in their late teens. IF a story was written depicting 50 year olds throughout the story my imagination will have the image of someone much young and vice versa.

Well I'm 15 and I have made quiet a few stories depicting minors but it is fictional so I don't see the problem. If an adult in his 20s+ did that then I would say that is messed up. We all have our opinions on this and I believe it's a mixed conflict that have facts built on both sides of the ball. Also I would like to say this is a great thread

An interesting debate, and one I considered before writing a story on this site.

I believe that the first thing to consider is the difference between...

Fiction: something feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story.

Factual: of or pertaining to facts; concerning facts.

Stories that are fiction, or made up, have never happened. If all the stories posted on here were factual, they would either be a) pretty boring or b) mostly lies (i.e. back to fiction) - with one or two exceptions.

Ok, onto the age thing. People would be pretty blinkered to believe that teenagers were pure and innocent until the age of 18 (or whatever the age of consent is where you live). Indeed, most people probably explore their sexuality most below that age, through innocence, curiosity and fun. How many adults would say, "you show me yours and I'll show you mine" ?

With regard to the content of stories, again I'd emphasise the meaning of fiction. If I was to write a story about a serial killer, would that mean that I was more likely to be one ? (In fact, I am actually writing a fictional story on a short story website about a killer... so watch out ! ;o) Joke)
Seriously, if that was the case, there would be a lot of well known and respected authors behind bars... and Stephen King would have probably been institutionalised for his stories !

One point that has been highlighted, and is of concern to me, is that I did not realise that there were so many younger members on here who view the stories. I agree that perhaps more of the stories should be moved into the Restricted Area (including my own one) to provide some sort of protection for younger readers, and also a warning displayed upon entry to the site.

I have mentioned several times in my threads that I try to include something for everyone in my story/ies, however I certainly would not want to offend or upset readers. In view of some of the concerns listed above, (and now my own as mentioned), I have decided to indefinately postpone the sequel to my story.

i have pondered this question since all these pedo cases have came up, like i fell like i am a pedo reading them then i fell sick, Like sure it normal for teens to fell sexually and have sexual thoughts about other people there age but when there about 15 or 14 i personally think it wrong to read about it but then again many teens that age are dating older people like 16 or 17 so... it hard to Jude on this because like people have said there are minors on this site and alot of them do make the stories up and like tilly said it is weird if a 20 yr old makes up a story about 14 and 15 yr olds anyway that my view

just a random point, maybe 14 year olds dont want to read a story about 30 year olds fucking each other, since they can not relate to it at all. If you write a story about 14 year olds they can relate to it, just a thought.

Right let me see if I get this. This is get dare and it’s a truth or dare site. It’s about playing truth or dare but some people have sexual truth and dare. But at the end of the day it’s for truth or dare no one said it has to be sexual people just do sexual things to do with dare. If you get what I’m saying.

Any one can access porn on the internet. So I find that a fiction story that contains under 16s having sex is not bad. So I don’t find anything wrong with theses storeys. And when I write storeys all my characters are over the age of 16 anyway and I think any descent person would do this as writing a story about children having sex is just sick minded. Well that’s my personal opinion.

So what I’m saying basically there’s nowt wrong with teenage fiction sex stories. And who said get dare has to be sexual dares? No one

And also you shouldn’t get involved with people on cam and things like that unless your certain there over age other whys you’re bringing it on your self.
