This picture made me laugh out loud, because I've become a regular DYI-store visitor myself. They must suspect something right? When slightly flustered customers purchase chains, locks, ropes and duct tape all in one go

Have you ever bought DYI "toys"? And if so, what do you use them for?

Do they work?

Also, feel free to share any crafty tips and tricks or funny stories you might have

I don't make any toys, I just feel a lot better when I buy them from a trusty site.

But I do have a funny story: There's a very popular local hardware store that I visit occasionally, and my boyfriend needed some more tape, rope, a torch, a shovel, and some other things like that (the tape and rope was for sexual purposes but that was it). I was browsing the outdoor section and I could see the cashier, who was assisting my boyfriend, was uncomfortable so I went over there. The cashier says something a long the lines of "What is all this stuff for?" or "What are you going to do with all this stuff?" And my boyfriend, being the dick prankster that he is, says, "I'm just going to use this stuff for the girl that's knocked out and tied up in my trunk, you know how it is, right?"

The look on the cashier's face was absolute priceless. My boyfriend later told them that it was a joke, but as we were walking out, he turns back to the cashier and says "You never saw me here." before putting on his hat & glasses, running to our car.

My latest purchase was a chain and a code lock. Sir and I have an online relationship, so the code lock allows him to really lock me up. I can set a code myself without looking, take a picture without looking and send it to him. He checks if he can read the code and then I throw away the pic and email, leaving me completely at his mercy.

I had to ask for help, cutting a length of chain. The "helpful" assistant then went on to advise me about locks. Saying a padlock would be better, as the code lock is normally used for luggage. I swear he knew, my face was burning like crazy the whole time I was in that store

I should add that I have a pair of very strong pliers at hand, to cut the chain if nessecary. I trust my owner, but in case of emergency, I need to be able to free myself.

I wouldn't really use DIY toys, mainly because i'm scared as hell that something goes wrong...
I've used some common house items but even that was scary and i do enjoy a real toy more instead of some random items :x.

I don't think it has to be dangerous, making your own toys/bondage furniture/or whatever else people come up with.
Yes of course, you have to excercise caution when playing, especially with bondage, or inserting things. But that goes for "regular" toys from the sex shop too.

Aside from the obvious things, like rope, chain, locks, and other things in the hardware store/department, I find a lot of useful items in the pet department:

• Pet collars
• "choker" style chain collars for improvised cuffs, or short restraints
• rubber chew toys and squeeky toys to make gags
• muzzles

Other items of interest throughout the store are:

• clothes pins
• mouse traps
• icy hot/bengay
• hot water bottles/enema kits
• tool boxes
• bicycle locks/chains

A squeaky toy gag sounds like fun. Very idiotic probably; not being able to talk, but making the toy squeak every time you try.

I have seen mouse traps being used as clamps. It looks very painful, because of th small surface area.

I do actually have a luggage lock with number code. Ideal for online play. (Though I've found out how to crack it, so it's not a 100% secure anymore )

I learned to pick locks years ago, and what I can't pick, I can break. When it comes down to it, they are to keep honest people honest.

I don't know why but this thread reminds me of a comedy bit I have seen recently that says: if you want to fuck with a cashier go to the store and buy completely random crap but put personal lubricant as the last item. That makes you the m night shyamalan of Shoping, because that Cashier now thinks that anything in your cart may have very different uses.

When I was younger I used to make my own butt plugs and dildos out of plastic soda bottles. You cut the very top and bottom off. Then cut it from top to bottom and roll it tighter to the size you want. Then wrap it completely and thoroughly with electrical tape. You can flare the bottom out and form it with tape to make it a plug. Then for safety throw a condom over it. If you need it more stiff because it starts to collapse you can stuff socks or something inside of it.

Bobby pins make interesting nipple clamps.

Right now I'm working on a humbler. I bought a couple pieces of wood and cut them to the correct form for my body. Also got some sandpaper to take all the sharp points off of it. Got a hinge for one side and a locking mechanism for the other and some wood stain for the final touches when I finish it. I can't wait until it's ready for use.

My next project will probably be some sort of bondage furniture.

Lots of them are quite advanced, so not easy to make for yourself. It's very enjoyable to watch though.

He did also make an app however, that is based off the nose touching the coin on the wall thing.
You have to touch the button on the screen. It counts up the number of times you let go. Of course, ask sorts of consequences can be connected to that. This would work great in online play. (I've already messaged sir about it ;-))

the toucher app works wonders. Actually, I’m cursing it for it’s effectiveness. There’s no cheating or slacking possible.

Because of this, I became inspired to make an app myself. So I did.
I made the “little pets’s deepthroat trainer” app.
