I'm male.

Once by mistake. I saw a single door so I just walked in without checking on the door (which was open). It turned out the men's bathroom was in another part of the restaurant.
3. Do you think it makes sense for there to be separate bathrooms for genders? Why? Why not?
Not really. I'd keep separate stalls though: men's seats have usually pee on them. I would be pretty annoyed if I had to actually seat on them to use them.
4. Guys: if you need to go pee, do you always use the urinal if there is one?
No, I check the stalls first. I prefer to have some privacy, I use the urinal if I really have to.

Yes, possibly more.

No, I avoid pooping in public restrooms.

I had to rush into the closest bar because I wasn't suddenly feeling well. The bathroom was the smallest room they could possibly get away with

Yes. Very rarely. There is a seldom used pair of restrooms at a building I have access to. Sometimes I'll use the females.

Yes. While there shouldn't be a need, if we have a lot of people uncomfortable by unisex toilets, we should give them the option to piss in peace.

Yes. Once, a guy friend was dragging me through both bathrooms to compare them. Turns out the guy's bathroom was much cleaner there.

Yes. It's less of a factual but more that there should be separate bathrooms because people want there to be separate bathrooms. It's confusing but it's just easier and less involved. Besides if everyone was going to the same bathrooms it'd just be a massive clutter.

Yes, it is indeed a thing. When you think of it as using only half of the number of urinals, it isn’t often that this needs to be done, mainly because urinals take very little space and loads can be built.

And as for the purpose? Like I said, it gives a little extra ‘privacy’ while doing your business. And it keeps you away from those with the nasty habit of checking out other peoples dicks while peeing. I just expect to piss in peace

A building at my uni had toilets in the same spot on each floor. What I didn't know what that they alternated. (I think I only had classes on even/odd floors). Walked into the female toilet without knowing and got a weird look from a guy as I came out.

Yes. Pretty rarely, and only when there's just a single toilet in the bathroom. I've been in gas stations where there was a line of guys waiting to go, and no one was using the women's restroom, that was literally the same as the men's restroom minus the sign on the door. I don't see much point in caring about it in those kind of situations.

Yes. I think it's just a little less awkward for people. Public bathrooms are kind of uncomfortable to a lot of people already, no need to add to that.
