Default Waiting for Pizza

This story is an outworking of a personal fantasy, and I thought I would type it up for your entertainment. If you have any dares you would like to add to the story as it progresses, please send me a PM. Thanks for reading!

CHAPTER ONE: WHY DIDN'T SHE SAY NO?

All buses cancelled until further notice.

Those were the words that changed Charlotte’s evening. For the better, it would turn out. Although it didn’t feel like it at the time.

The words appeared on a sign at the bus stop, where dozens of freshers were waiting for the number 102 to Bradmouth town centre. It was Thursday night, freshers’ week, and they were hoping to join the evening of festivities that the Student Union had organised.

Sadly, for some the residents of Kingfisher, it was not to be. Kingfisher was the furthest student accommodation from the town centre. This had its advantages when it came to finances. But it also meant a long walk to the town centre if you couldn’t catch a bus. And the group of new friends from Kingfisher 3.2 were not in the mood for a long walk. And their wallets weren’t in the mood for a taxi both ways.

“We could order in pizza? Watch a film instead?” That was James’s suggestion, and everyone agreed. And so the sextet walked back to their shared flat to browse Pizza Zone’s menu and to choose from Stevie’s extensive film collection.

While James was on the phone to Pizza Zone, the other five were having an increasingly animated debate about which film to watch. Things seemed to have reached an impasse. And that’s when Stevie made the fateful suggestion, “Why don’t we play a game?”

“Like what?” Megan replied. Megan was an honorary member of the flat for the evening, as she was in fact Stevie’s boyfriend. But Kingfisher 3.2 were very happy to have her, and Stevie was obviously very happy that they had both secured a place at Bradmouth Uni.

“Ummm… Truth or Dare?” suggested Stevie.

“What are we, like 11?”

“What about Strip or Dare?” This was James again, fresh from completing the pizza order. The others waited to see what James meant. “Like Truth or Dare, but dares only, and if you chicken out of a dare, you have to strip off a piece of clothing.”

Charlotte tried to respond to this with a nervous laugh and a vocal objection but she was drowned out by a new increasingly animated debate about how the game would actually work.

As Charlotte watched on, rules were agreed. Everyone would secretly add 12 dares to a phone app James had. You couldn’t add the same dare twice and you couldn’t add anything involving other people, unless they were willing volunteers. If you refused a dare and someone else was willing to do it, they get to take off a piece of your clothing. If no-one else was willing to do it, the dare was deemed too hard and you could safely skip your turn, clothing intact.

And then, there was the forfeit. “The pizza’s going to be a bit delayed,” explained James. “Not sure how long, but apparently there’s a big accident in town. That’s why the buses have all been cancelled. So how about this: Whoever’s taken off the most clothing when the pizza arrives has to answer the door in whatever they’re still wearing.”

The group laughed. “I like it,” said Megan. “Nice,” added Stevie. Anna and Josh added their agreement too.

Charlotte was not so sure. She was clearly more shy than the rest of the group, and the only one who had never had a real boyfriend or girlfriend. She had no idea what kind of dares other people would suggest, even with the inbuilt safeguard against overly difficult dares. But at the same time, she would need to skip four dares before anyone saw any of her underwear. Surely the pizza wasn’t going to be that delayed...

“Charlotte, you in?”

Part of her wanted to say “No.” Part of her wanted to go back to Stevie’s film collection. But she wanted to get her time at uni off to a good start. She wanted friends, she wanted to be included, she didn’t want to get a reputation as a killjoy.

And so she said, “Yes.”

The game was on.
