November Writing Contest

I have decided that I want to start a writing competition. Each month, there will be a new topic and to enter, you need to follow the rules/guidelines and post your entry in the thread.

After the deadline, we will create a poll and vote on the winner. The winner will receive entry into the Dungeon.

Theme: Thanks, Remembrance & Appreciation

November is often a time of being thankful. In the US, thanksgiving is a big holiday. In North America, we also remember and show our appreciation to veterans who fought for our freedom. Even if these holidays aren't celebrated all over the globe in November, I think that giving thanks and showing appreciation is especially important at this time of the year. Before a busy holiday season, let's take time to appreciate each other, and the blessings that we have in our life.

Guidelines:

• Post your entry in the blog or story section of getDare (which ever is more appropriate).
• Post a link to your entry in this thread to officially enter.
• Be creative! People are going to vote for whichever is best, and entertaining and creative ideas will most likely get the most votes.
• Your entry can be a story, blog, list, poem, song etc.
• Entries must be over 300 words to qualify (exception to this would be a poem which needs to be 10 lines min).

Possible topic ideas:

• Tell us about somebody who has had a major affect on your life (kinky or not).
• Tell us a story about a time that you gave back to somebody else, or somebody gave something to you at a time that really had an impact
• Rave about somebody who you adore and appreciate
• Start an appreciation thread or write a blog about a fellow member and thank them for being them
• Write about a favorite memory you have (on getDare or in real life)
• Write a story with a thankful theme

With this as only the 2nd potential entry this month, the contest may be moot. I suspect it be cancelled. EDIT: I see Jaro has stepped up with a nice entry.

Nevertheless I have written a story that was prompted by reading this contest notice. And although it falls outside the guidelines to some degree, and is not really a GetDare kind of story, I have parked it in a blog.
