I did some research a while ago and most people felt that metal cages were the way to go.

It is possible to wear 24/7 with a short break for cleaning if you getting a high quality chastity cage and prefer it to be made of metal for comfortable wear. It might quite uncomfortable to wear and hard to fall asleep with it as you need some time to get used to it. The size should just fit your soft penis, not too large. I not really sure if any medical side effects, but for me as a regular cage wearer, I am feeling quite good and like to be caged after being used to it. Just my routine works prohibited me from wear it 24/7.
