Bug Biology/IQ Challenge: Reward!!

This is my first post on this site, so let's see what comes of this. Inspired by the Math/IQ challenge of KittenRosehttp://www.getdare.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=336454, I've decided to see if anyone here knows their Biology as well as some people seem to know Maths. Anyone who has done high school Biology could crack this with a bit of thought (and maybe some help from the internet). The challenge is simple: all you have to do is decipher the following message and send your answer to me in a pm:

...AATACTAATACTAGTACGGAGCACTTAGAAGACTCCTAATTTC...

The first person to get it right (if that happens) wins and can give me a dare of their choice and ask me one question. I will then post a full report, as you wish. If you get it wrong, I will give you a dare. Let's see.

* I should clarify that I am looking for an actual meaningful hidden message in English*

And I can't believe this is still open........
Come on, people.... you don't even need to know Biology... just a specific....

Ah, right! No clues..................

p.s.
Yes, I do know the answer... but I won't say a word. Maybe I'm a little bratty... I don't know... but I can't help it: must be in my DNA....

Default A Little Clue

Wow! I did not expect much of a response, at least not so soon. Many of you who messaged me pointed out correctly that it's a string of DNA base pairs and gave me the sequence of the complementary strand. I'm not going to count this as an incorrect answer, BUT I am actually looking for a meaningful message in English! Here's a clue that might help you. Let's see :

Thymine had a little string- a string of DNA
Hidden in her genes it was, discretely tucked away
Thymine was a little slut, but to none had she confessed
And oh, she dearly wanted- that little string expressed

One day she decided to open up, to her friend polymerase
Who promptly unzipped her genes, with a coy smile on her face
No sooner was her cleavage bare, she gave a bashful grin
When a couple of friends dropped by, and decided to join in

Adenine, uracil and guanine decided to start the fun
Thymine paired with adenine, and it was long before they were done
But eventually they had to stop, when she cried UAA!
She soon had all her codons, and a string of RNA

When the string slid into the ribosomal groove, and all was said and done
She had finally expressed herself, and had a little fun.

Default Solution

Congratulations to Leana for being the winner and the first to decode the message. WILL also managed to solve it. As a forfeit, I will do a dare assigned by the winner with a full report on this thread- or another reward as the winner sees fit. I hope it will be interesting!? So now the solution:

...AATACTAATACTAGTACGGAGCACTTAGAAGACTCCTAATTTC...

1. Most people recognised this as part of a single strand of DNA, which contains genes that code for proteins and those proteins determine the traits of an organism. The letters stand for adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine which are molecular units joined in a chain where the specific sequence of letters determines the eventual sequence and structure of expressed proteins.

2. Before a protein can be expressed (i.e. made), the DNA sequence has to be copied into a sequence of RNA which is like a mirror image of the DNA sequence. The rule is that guanine becomes cytosine, cytosine becomes guanine, thymine becomes adenine and adenine becomes uracil.

...UUAUGAUUAUGAUCAUGCCUCGUGAAUCUUCUGAGGAUUAAAG...

3. To make this into a protein a ribosome reads the RNA sequence. Three consecutive letters in the sequence make a codon, and each codon determines which amino acid building block gets incorporated next into a growing protein chain. There are twenty different types of amino acids, and each has a single letter abbreviation. If you started from the beginning of the above sequence you'd get:

...L(Leucine) and then the STOP codon UGA

4. Not very meaningful. There's a catch. Protein expression only begins at the START codon AUG and in this case ends with the STOP codon UAA. Excluding the START and STOP codons, the abbreviated protein chain becomes:

I-M-I-M-P-R-E-S-S-E-D
Isoleucine-Methionine- and so on

I really am impressed with the people who solved this!

Default Forfeit

Since I haven't received any forfeit dare from the winner so far, I guess that means I'm off the hook? I must admit that part of me was curious to see whether I could finish this thread with an interestingly fitting punishment for my presumption; I am more than impressed!

For those of you who valiantly attempted to crack the code but failed, I dare you to put the following in your signature for the next week:

"It's in my DNA...TTACTAACGATACCGAAGAGAACGACCAATTG...
http://www.getdare.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=336782
"
