Default BDSM in culture.

BDSM is becoming more popular and is gaining more public approval as every new day passes. And like everything else, it has it's fair share in culture, either in films, theater, works of literature, etc.

So.. What are your favorite movies and books in this genre? That's not including porn. I haven't watched much, only "The pet" and "Secretary". I liked them, but I'd love to watch more.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

-runs for the hills-

I must have watched some other than the two you mentioned, but I can't think of any offhand.

It's maybe not a bdsm film since the majority of what happens to the main character is forced upon them and is in no way part of a consensual submission/dominant scenario, but, 'The skin I live in' is pretty much a forced feminization fantasy which is what I know a lot of male subs (myself included) find particularly errr...interesting.

I was thinking about giving 'secretary' a go but never got round to it...

I've wanted to read it for a while, never got myself to. But I think I would, soon.

The secretary is actually not bad, Maggie Gyllenhaal did her best in that movie.

I do love my comics...Guido Crepax's comics versions of the Story of O and Venus in Furs are awesome. Paul Pope fans may notice Crepax's influence. John Willie's Sweet Gwendoline comics are classics of the 'statuesque women in peril and rope' variety.

For movies, speaking of classics...Barbarella. Secretary does nothing for me. Cruising is another classic, and I have a lot of conflicting feelings about that, so let's just say it's a favorite. Still need to see Interior: Leather Bar which is James Franco's recent commentary about it.

For books, Samuel Delany's The Mad Man is some wonderful and brilliant filth.

That's interesting, I'm gonna put these comics on my list.

Default Kushiel's Legacy

My friend just copied me Kushiel's Legacy (a book). She said it was BDSM in medieval setting. Sounds like the Game of Thrones with a lot of BDSM scenes *drools*

I haven't started reading it, though

I seriously considered putting 'Raucous Rara' as my nickname but backed out in the last minute as it doesn't sound that sexy.

But that's me, as I can be very harsh and loud when dealing with things I dislike. I can be softie and sweet when subbing to a Sir

I am owned. Stop asking me to be your sub. This is your last warning before I lash out at you.

I think my favorite movie would have to be 'Exit to Eden'. Though it's more of a comedy than a BDSM film, it still have some great scenes!

I'm not sure what to say about a comedy/BDSM movie. But it sounds fun. I'm gonna watch that.

I've watched "La Pianiste" and "Histoire d'O" (Both movies are based on novels). Both were good. The story of O is much lighter. The pianist is somewhat dark and psychological. I've heard that its novel is even much more darker.

Books: Story of O

Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by Anne Rice, written as A. N. Roquelaur

I can't count the number of times I had to pause in the middle of reading these four books to take care of my throbbing clit, haha. And I read those four above in the same summer... so I had a really fun summer!

A cute thing of short stories, were the submissive fairy tales by Kitty Thomas. Three short 'fairy tales'. Only the first one personally got me excited enough to take the time to get off, but the others were fun reads.

Another decent book: The Businessman's tie by Deena Ward. I enjoyed the read, fairly short. But not quite enough to buy the next in the series, though if I saw it for free, I'd grab it in a heart beat! I did get off a few times at least.

That sounds hot!

I will read the short stories. And the books too if I get the chance. The sleeping beauty seems really good from the reviews and stuff that I've read about it.
