In my experience as a professional unmentioner of unmentionable things, it is often counter-productive to mention to others not to mention the said unmentionables (which should have remained unmentioned), as it inevitably leads to one mentioning the unmentionable, thus prompting others to mention the unmentionable in their denials of mentioning the unmentionable, which keeps the unmentionable being repeatedly mentioned.
