I don't write for any particular audience more for myself but can be disheartening sometimes if there are no comments as I post new parts/stories

Heh, yeah, I figured. But you can totally run with just your feet! They're designed for it.

Actually, there's a whole barefoot running community that's pretty popular... and not only is it safer, it's actually therapeutic and helps undo some of the damage caused by shoes.

True but I can't run all that well barefoot. So this is where some reality comes in
