General Question - Responding to Forum Threads

New and I know this must have been asked before but hoping for some current insight into messaging and replies.

Like do people typically respond (to forum dare requests for example) in the thread itself. Or do you expect a PM? Or do you PM or kik only if requested.

Is it weird that i'd prefer to just interact on getdare or email? I get the advantage of kik anonymity but I've heard it's kind of a pain so what's the advantage really?
