My attempt at a Haiku:

A desert flower
Waiting for life-giving rain
Fears the coming flood

This is one of my favourite poems of all time, by E.E Cummings.

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,

The Color of My Soul

The black and blue had begun forming
The color my heart had turned without warning
Nightmares of the terror encapsulate me
Trapped in my own mind with no end I see
