Thoughts Male Public Nudity?

Do you think it's unfair that guys are more likely to get into trouble than women for being naked in public?

This obviously stems from the fact if a guy is excited it's very obvious, especially if he isn't covering himself. Although my own thoughts are going to bias on this subject so I would like to get opinions from guys and girls.

So what do you think, are guys given a raw deal with public nudity or is it justified?

Also going to point out the converse side of this idea: it is usually acceptable for guys to walk around shirtless in public, especially outdoors, however it's more of an issue if women are topless.

Now for my thoughts: Nudity itself, while socially taboo, is not sexual. It's our own thoughts and desires that make it so. Therefore, I would suggest that as long as no one is making any overtly sexual actions or comments, then nudity should be allowed, men and women, in most public settings.

I personally think that if people were more open to casual nudity, either in public, or small groups with people they trust (for example, at home with family and/or friends), you'd see less occurrences of body image issues and an increase in body positivity in culture overall. With this idea in mind, it's one of my goals to visit, at least once, and try a nudist or clothing optional beach or resort, if for no other reason than to say I had.

Again agree with this completely, although can never be sure unless it's put into practice.

Although the people I've chatted to who have had this kind of lifestyle do seem to have a better body image.

Honestly? I think guys got the wrong end of the deal in those aspects!

Going commando is an issue, because you’re wearing track pants and you have some creative thoughts and every.single.person who walks by can see it!

Women can jerk off through yoga pants if they’re commando, but guys; so much as try to jerk off and the erection is there for the world to see :/

I’m not a nudist (that doesn’t mean I’m against it). I just don’t like the idea of being nude in public myself. If there’s someone who’s doing it and is comfortable, I’m not one to have an issue with that...

With all the focus on equality here in good old usa, shouldn't this type of thing be considered in the name of equality as well? In my personal opinion if you want to be naked in public and your confident enough in yourself to do so why can't you be? Personally I lack the self confidence and guts to do it, so no idea if I ever could. Now of I saw someone just strolling down the street nude would I notice, yes. May I gawk, possibly. Could I become aroused, maybe. But let me take a second on that last point. Yes I might get aroused if I saw someone nude in public, but why? Because it is considered taboo and not socially acceptable, (plus the person might just look sexy). However if it was different and "normal" I doubt that would be the case. My response may be more to the tune of, oh look that person is nude much in the way now I may think something along the lines of she's wearing a cute dress. Does that even make sense?

So either way, a guy or a girl who chooses to wear a professional suit or one in just a sensible pair of shoes (those sidewalks are nasty, protect your poor feet and don't go barefoot please! ) who the heck cares? Seriously other than your own personal issues, feelings, etc how in the world would someone naked in public really have any affect on your life in any way? Just walk on by and ignore them just as you have ignored the other hundreds of people you walked past on the street today that impacted your life in no way whatsoever.

So I pose two questions here.

1. Would you ever go nude in public?
2. If you are anti public nudity, why?

For males, being caught indecent in public can result in jail time and be labeled as a sex-offender. For women, being caught indecent will result in pictures and no one will even think to call the police. Now that could be just because when women are arrested for it, it doesn't make the new.

I think this is due to men just being "raging hormonal creatures"... the stereotype. They aren't given a break. It could be because of the clothing as well. Males don't really have the wardrobe malfunction like with their clothing choices. It also helps that they don't have 2 "private areas"

Yes, it is unfair in my opinion. As someone has already pointed out already though it is also unfair that men can freely go topless without legal issues but women cannot.

I think the bias against male nakedness is because of the history that men are seen as the aggressor and women as the "victim". When you hear of rape you normally hear of men overpowering women. It was normally men who viewed porn and not women. Even in the dating world, historically the man initiated........ until somewhat recently (last 10 years or so).... Now women are pretty much just as aggressive as men and view porn almost as much as men and initiate relationships, etc. just as much as men. You even now hear of women who rape men.

I say all of this, but what I really believe it comes down to...... It is often a beautiful women that is flaunting her stuff if she is naked and men love it. It is often a very out of shape man flaunting his stuff and women are repulsed by it. I bet there are some women that if they were naked in public they would get busted because it would be an eyesore and by the same token I bet there are some men who are very much in shape, etc. that could get away with being naked in public and only have people grab cameras, etc.

I think it is in the process of all changing and equalizing -- just being very slow to come because of historical gender positions in society.

Well, ignoring the law at the moment and just focusing on the physical point of view: There already is kind of a natural unfariness. I really enjoy being naked, because it feels so good. But I wouldn't like to be naked in public most of the time. Simple reason: Everybody can see immediately, if you like something or someone. This is even worse and more obvious than going red.
As child my parents and me often went to a nudist beach, and I really loved it. Running around in nature naked is great! But then I grew into puberty, and suddenly I hated it. Now I can control myself better again, and I like nudist areas, but still, some situations are difficult for males when they are nude

So now, I wouldn't like to be naked in public, except for very few selected situations. But I really would welcome it, if nudity in public would become more normal, and you could decide yourself, if you want to be nude at the moment or not.

I do agree with you, however it is possible to get used to be nude in public. To the stage where you can control these urges.

Although this does depend on the situation I guess.

Well, it's basically legal to go out fully nude in public where I live if it's not sexual but just 'being nude'.
The law says it's OK to wear (or not wear) what you want as long as you don't 'offend the public'. (there are some exceptions from that but not related to nudity).
If you someone calls the police, they have to decide if you 'offend the public' or not, so it basically comes down to how liberal the policemen (or women) are.
If you don't try to argue with them you only have to pay a fine, that's all.
If you'd actually do something sexual, the fee gets higher and I think a judge has to decide that.
