Could number 3 be canis? (as in canis lupus) i saw lupus guessed before, but not canis.

Welcome to the puzzle . Canis is also incorrect.

As a side note, I will be traveling tomorrow so I may be slow in answering guesses.

It's been a while since i last posted the 'what we know' thing to help us narrow our guesses. we've guessed a couple more clues since then, and learned many more things AREN'T the correct answer for the ones we haven't gotten yet. So I'm updating it with all of our guesses so far as well as the letters we learned are part of the answer to the final riddle to save us some time... because I definitely don't want to have to look through every post this riddle to avoid guessing something that's already been guessed, and I can't imagine anyone else does either.

A few hints for everyone before I head to bed:
Clue 3: perhaps you are looking at more than just what you see.
Clue 4: you may need to broaden your scope.
Clue 6: blood is not important.

For 6 I have been wondering if maybe BLEEDING... or BLOODY... but those are now debunked.
Also worth re-checking post 321 which science gal said was on the right track.

6) stockbrokers (ok... i know this seems random, and it's likely wrong. but while doing some research into "Blood swept lands and seas of red", which is the proper name for the artwork we are beating our heads over in this clue, i learned that the moat of the tower of london where it was installed was used as a training ground for soldiers in WWI, and the soldiers that trained there became known as the stockbrokers batallion)

Really don't think its any kind of right, but hopefully someone can use this to bring in more likely thoughts
