Why everybody holds on to kik? Because it is widespread and many people use it. My experience? I offer my subs to contact me either on telegram, signal or kik and 90 percent use kik as mean of communication. I even have Threema installed which is by all means even safer then telegram. But only very few use telegram, almost nobody signal and only a small group of friends Threema. So kik still is number one when it comes to messenger service.
