1 week holiday with a fake cast

Final chance to suggest the story that I have to stick with for if anyone asks what I've done for both arms to be in casts.

If anyone asks me and I don't stick to the agreed story then I will receive a punishment.

The final story will be chosen by my husband tomorrow morning

My husband has got me tied on the decking in the garden and apparently I'll be staying here until either tomorrow morning or 2 people decide to release me.

I have one leg either side of a pergola post with my big toes and ankles tied together

To give an idea of time, it's almost 7.15pm here

That sounds like a great plan your husband had by doing this. I don't really see why you should be released but am happy to be convinced. How are you doing at the moment and why do you want to be released?

My phone went flat last night
He came and untied me before he went to bed so I could go to the toilet but I was then returned to the post and my big toes and ankles tied again and left there for the night

I definitely think we are due for an update on your casted holiday. How have people reacted to you? How are you managing with two lumps of fibreglass for arms??

It may take you a while to type, but some detailed reporting is required!

Well it's been a nice week away although being able to do so little for myself has been a bit embarrassing... I can't even go to the toilet on my own!

People have reacted really well and have been so helpful, the cafe in the village even cut my breakfast up smaller for me yesterday ha ha. I'll be honest though I haven't kept to the story about my arms though.

And of course as you know I'm now locked in thigh bands so I'm limited to skirts and dresses for the foreseeable future... I hope I'm out of them by the winter or else I'm going to have very cold legs

I've got a feeling that this won't be the last time I'm in a fake cast as I know my husband has enjoyed the last 2 weeks especially where I need so much help and when he can easily leave me tied somewhere

When in public my husband has been feeding me like a baby. When we've been at the house it's been a bit of a mixture of being fed and eating with just my mouth.

Excellent! I definitely think this is something that should happen more often... If only you could remove the casts in such away that they could be locked on again when required...

This has got me thinking about other long term hand restraints such as proper medical hand restraints used to stop patients who interfere with their medical treatment... see here:

I guess that could be done by cutting them off and putting them back on with cable ties to hold them in place but that wouldn't work for going out in public.

My husband has just said that I may not have done enough to deserve to have both casts removed when we get back home

I would agree with that - we are hearing from you now, but I don't think that is enough reporting yet to be rewarded with freedom.

Question is when do you definitely need them off due to work? Or is he thinking you could explain away keeping one cast at work? It would seem odd on top of the sling...

Well I guess one could be kept on but just need to bear in mind that it would have been on for 2 weeks already at that point and don't want to risk any longer term issue.

The sling could be more practical or he's also suggested it could be a leg casted and I have to use crutches but that may not work with the thigh bands. It'll need a bit of thinking about I think

It could become difficult to explain.. all these injuries in a row.... It depends whether work people heard about your sling and broken foot...

I don't think they know about the sling, they do know about when I broke my foot though
