How about "accidentally" getting locked out in your underwear, then you'll be in the hallway, in the elevator, and down to the front desk to get another key, all in your underwear
 The hotel staff have probably seen it before, to be honest. Maybe carry the key with you in your drawers if you're not too keen on going all the way.
