Ebonys.....Palms/Soles colour?

It hard to phrase this in the right way to get point across but those who have darker skin colour, basically I'm wondering this

Are your palms and soles the same colour as the rest of you or a lighter side?

If lighter, how much lighter?

Coming from Africa there are a few stories that are passed down from generation to generation why that black people have white hands and feet .
The story I got told by my nanny as a kid is as follows .
In the beginning there was just one large continent and Africa was in the middle . In the middle of Africa was a large lake and anyone that bathed in it would turn white .
A chameleon and a leopard noticed all these people bathing in it and agreed everyone should be given the chance to bath so the chameleon agreed to go south and the leopard went north to spread the news .
The leopard was obviously quicker so all the northern people got there first and by the time people from the south got there all that was left was a puddle enough to put in your hands and feet .Hence the reason black people have white hands and feet .

Coming from Africa I learnt a lot from my nanny who was like a second mum to us and she used to tell us all the stories handed down and we used to spend hours listening to the stories she had to tell .
