So the game went on and the music played. Alex's mind, so usually precise, couldn't stop thinking about what Richard had said to him about Liz's bush: what was it about it that made it so special? He desperately wanted to find out. He and Liz had both lost two items each by now, and were now sitting opposite each other, so just now neither could challenge the other directly.
Ann meanwhile was weighing up Peter, who seemed to playing just as it were a normal game of anything else and not bothered at all when he lost and item. So far he'd lost three to Ann's two.
