Yes, Im with Champion here, he should be able to test his limits safely, and right now he needs a rest. Let him focus on other things rather than edges.
I suggest also he should try some bondage, like tying his ankles or wrists together to complete certain tasks or just exist with them for a set amount of time. As if he was waiting for mhis master's return.
