Partly, but not entirely. In truth, most of these sites had very good moderation teams but were ultimately brought down by legal threats.

In some instances it was the web hosts who pulled the plug. So then the site owners would have to go shopping around for less reputable hosts in the fringes. And several times they got dicked over by cowboys and got exhausted and gave up the fight.

In the case of Absolutely.Exposed it was because of a draconian change of German law which started to aggressively target individuals publishing porn. To the extent that even individuals posting their own nudes on Twitter were being prosecuted. The German owner of AE just couldn't take the risk.

And an overriding theme was bad actors. People posting underage stuff, really extreme images, revenge porn, etc. A constant battle. And then non-consensual posting. Now I know that's something you plan to address with some sort of verification system, but I think you underestimate quite how frequently horny guys consent, cum, panic, and then withdraw consent. If they don't have a mechanism to immediately pull the plug then they start freaking out, reporting, and making legal threats.

Really, the gold standard for consensual verified exposure was Absolutely.Exposed. But that took a lot of work and even then it was scuppered by a society and legislature that doesn't like our kinks.
