Default Search engine: asterisk bug

I've noticed that the search engine setting have been adjusted. Aside from changing the time between searches (3 -> 25 ), I cannot use asterisks ('*') anymore. In the past, I was able to use asterisks as a placeholder character to lower the minimum length of word by one. Although this was a bug, now the asterisk throws an error which is a bug as well.

Quote:
The search term you specified (alcohol*) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific.
I'd like to use all conjugations for the words I search. For instance in the quoted example: alcoholics; alcoholic; and alcohol. I don't mind using logic operators for now but they too are buggy too (link to bug description). Can't wait to see getDare upgraded. ⏰

Would anyone be so kind to resolve this problem?
