Okay, I actually did play this (my edited version with my toys obviously) and it was fucking awesome. I've been trying all day to think of a way to add "houses" and this is the best I have:

Each property tile gets a number, 1-22, I didn't include the stations or utilities because doubling them wouldn't have worked as well. After each round, use a random number generator to pick 4 numbers, and those tiles now have a house on them. For 1 house, it's doubled. For 2, tripled, and so on.

I used a google drawing to enable me to keep track of where on the board I was - and this is how I added the numbers and houses as well
