I certainly can't speak for your area but the numerous ones I have been to has been a healthy mix of men, woman and everyone in between across both sides of the slash. At play specific kink events there are almost always people looking for pick up play or at the very least someone who shares a specific kink with you. You're more likely to find the Dom/me of your dreams out there in the community than you are on here complaining about it online. Then even when you do find them chances are you won't have 100% cross over of things you like so there WILL have to be compromises.
