I always tried the wand legs-up too, so you're not alone. I only figured out the upside-down belt thing when I saw an image of someone having it fastened that way (probably on a milking guys tumblr blog, but I can't remember for sure), and sure enough it worked much better for me when I tried it. I think those harnesses meant for forced orgasm torture on females do have it more held the other way, and I suppose you could fasten it to your leg, but I just think this is easier and more secure as moving your legs around won't help.
