If you looked at my record collection, you'd assume that they were my favourite band, based on records owned per capita, but that's just not the case.
However, I do think that they are one of the most interesting bands in the UK alt. music scene right now. Their thing is taking archive audio recordings, from stuff like British Pathe, newsreels, broadcast speeches, etc. and turning them into beautiful instrumental movements. And I mean /beautiful/.
This album, as you may guess from the title, is about the battle between the USA and Russia to get a man on the moon. Each track documents a major point in the race, with tracks like 'Gagarin,' 'Go!' and 'Sputnik.'
It's a great listen, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're into this sort of stuff, it's amazing.
They're also great live, I'd love to see them.
