May I ask what "costume" was worn for cocktail hour?

I can just imagine how enjoyable it must be to arrive home and find a scantily clad (or un-clad) woman waiting with a whiskey and warm mouth waiting. The only disadvantage is if the conversation requires a reply, as you temporarily lose the aforementioned warm mouth. I guess even the best things have their disadvantages.
