The problem is that if a girl doesn't verify, then people will accuse her of lying. People do that enough even when there isn't the option to verify.

There is really no reason to verify as if you want people to know you are who you say you are, you can do it on your own. Offering this doesn't serve any kind of purpose and I know when I first joined this site I wouldn't have verified it with anyone, mod or not. If people want to believe I'm not a woman, that is their right.
