GD Chat Sounds
 

As far as I can tell, there are two notification sounds that play in the GD chat: when someone leaves/joins a room, and when someone posts a message. Right now, its only possible to toggle sounds completely (all on or all off).

My suggestion is to be able to only have the "new message" sound turned on. Since people are frequently popping in and out of the chat, the notification sounds can quickly get annoying, but I don't want to miss any messages.

There are four different options for sounds that you can change. Look under settings.

I haven't been able to find anything like that in the chat settings. The chat help thing speaks of something called PANELS, but I don't find anything like that either.

Am I being stupid (again)?

When you click on settings, there is 4 different lines of gradient squares (from black to white). Clicking on those will change the type of sound. But one of options is no sound at all.
