First one I ever saw was neon genesis but was too young to take it in, the first one I was proper invested in was.... Sword art online, enjoyed it and opened my eyes to loads of new stuff especially even more isekai trash

Haha, to be honest not really sure how it happened, basically nothing instant and nothing to do with playing with it, just like internal issues

Cyberpunk - didn't encounter many bugs just smashed through the story, didn't really feel dragged away to explore anything

I buy a lot of stuff on a whim, pretty much everything, nothing too stand out to mention though

Hmm... usually I see Diablo as its own classification, with other games classified as "Diablo-like". But Diablo-likes, Rogue-likes, and Metroidvania all tend to have a lot of overlap, so...I guess it works. XD

Yeh can't really think of many other rougelikes that I would have played

Diablo has elements of a rogue-like but I usually intend it more as the "you get one shot to try and beat the game/permadeath" kind of thing. Binding of Isaac is a pure one, but Hades and Curse of the Dead Gods get really close.

Classifications just do so much in any case, so it's not really important. They are just helpful in communicating but often everyone has a different way of interpreting them, so it's not like it makes it any better haha.

We loved to play Diablo III in 4 players, couch co-op. Was a mess at launch but after they worked on it for so long, it turned out ot be a great game. Nice choice! Also, thinking more about it, in hardcore mode with permadeath it can surely be considered a rogue-like by the standard definition.

Damn. So many people got introduced to animes by Neon Genesis, it always surprises me. It's not the easiest entry point to set foot in, at all. But it just works. That anime is a gem

Agreed! Hades was so good! Those are usually called "Rogue-lite" when they include the idea of global progression when you hit certain milestones.

Of course, then that blends into metroidvanias, which take that concept and make it their main thing, with save points rather than starting completely over... heheh, so yeah, categories are pretty blurry things.

The real question here... do you survival mode it on MC or create mode? Personally I'm not a survival kind of player, I'm too lazy to deal with the hassle of creepers and the like... don't play much, but when I do, it's for relaxation.

Well... to some extent, dominance and submissiveness are inherent traits, but in the way that masculinity and femininity, or introversion and extroversion are. Everyone has some degree of both sides of all of those aspects of human personality.

Humans in general tend fairly strongly toward being submissive. That's why civilization works; most people will do what they're told, or... basically anything at all to remain accepted by, and thus protected by, their tribe or group.

So while there are things to learn about submission, they're mostly so you know what to expect, and how to stay out of trouble. The actual act of submitting is totally instinctive.

[Loooong tangent, heh] Submission is actually the strangely seldom-mentioned third leg of the fight-flight-submit-posture system in the brain, despite submission and posturing/blustering accounting for the vast majority of the times your limbic system generally activates. How many times have you backed down from someone who blustered and postured big and wide at you and threatened you? How many times have you thrown a hard look at someone, and they didn't escalate, but let you win? How many times have you actually been in a physical fight, either by choice or because some maniac just attacked you without giving you a chance to shirk out of the violence? How many times have you literally run away from another human in legitimate fear/terror? The answers to those questions, for most people, are that submission and posturing account for almost all of the instances in their life in which their limbic system activated, with the very rare (single-digit per lifetime for most people) fight or flight happening.

Anyway, point is, submission is a thing we just know how to do. It's not a skill that's learned, particularly, more like a sensation we grow more comfortable with and accepting of as we experience it more and more.

Domination isn't like that. In a sense, it is, because posturing is also instinctive, but pure posturing only gets you satisficing behavior; it gets the other person to do the minimum required to keep you from hurting them. Domination for purposes other than instilling fear/cowering responses is something that must be learned.

To dominate in just the right way to inspire aroused obedience with an altered state of mind like subspace isn't something that comes naturally to most people... just like dominating in just the right way to inspire gullibility is something a con artist has to learn.


Soooo... all of this is a long-winded way of getting around to saying: Dominance is a skill. Anyone can learn it. Different people have different levels of natural talent, motivation, and inspiration for it, of course, but... would you be willing to learn to help someone you cared about find happiness?


Ummm... and also, check out Roll20.net for tabletop RPG groups. A large portion of tabletop RP is done online on virtual tabletops and chat apps these days, with Covid, like it did for many things, providing the push into making it truly mainstream. Even my local D&D group shifted to online-only for the duration of the pandemic, to avoid cross-contamination between neighborhoods. So I just thought I'd mention that. <_<

Not necessarily, I do really enjoy RPGs but only when I've got time to invest in them

Yes, if you have the money, I dropped a couple grand on mine, but it will last for ages and I use it daily not just for gaming but yeh, haven't found a game I can't play on max settings yet

I have all of em, if I had to rank ot would go 1.playstation 2.nintendo 3.xbox
