Paid Subscriptions - Opt Out?

Although there is an 'expiry date' listed, I also see that both options in the 'cost' drop down indicate that they'll automatically renew. I wondered, then, how I'd go about cancelling the auto-renew and opt out?

Thanks :)

It's a donation you can make to the site :)

http://www.getdare.com/bbs/payments.php

You get:
  • Storage for 1500 private messages
  • Over 10 megs attachment space
  • Custom user titles
  • Help getDare pay the bills

But surely there's an option to opt out...

All the cool kids are doing it.

I hope I don't have to close my account and start afresh in order to stop the payments :/

did you happen to read this?
Validity periods marked * indicate that purchasing this subscription is recurring, this means after the period is complete it will automatically be renewed.

Last I looked which was a few minutes ago both options had the * next to it.

To stop the recurring payment you can end the subscription within the paypal you used to set the subscription up.

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click History at the top of the page.
3. Select Subscriptions from the Show menu.
4. Check the From box and change the date back 2 years.
5. Click Search.
6. Click Details to view the details of a specific Subscription Creation.
7. Click Cancel Subscription.
8. Click Cancel Subscription again.

If you have any problems feel free to PM me

Yup, and I was fine with that when I started it (back in 2010) but I've since started using the site less and, as such, wish to withdraw my donations. Nothing personal against the site at all; I just need the money for other things :)

Thanks, lilysmaster :) I've cancelled the subscription on my PayPal. I wonder, though, if there's anything else I need to do, or whether all my 'getDare perks' will just stop on the expiry date given to me on this page?

God_Of_Masters 08-03-2012 07:59 AM

Ok nevermind, like is said, if the paypal thing works, good or else contact the people in-charge. Also, your GD won't cancel since you selected the charity in paypal. Unless you goofed up :p

u need the money for other things ?? -_^
This guy prefers sex and orgasms over human charity !! heartless doctor !! :p

I'll send a PM to LilAngel (considering Depp's been absent for a while) and just double-check things.

+ Ha! How do you know where my finances go?! :p

Because the only method for subscription is Paypal, to cancel a subscription you cancel it on paypal.

Log into paypal,
My account,
My profile > dropdown to "my money"
My Pre-approved payments click the "update" link.
Then you can cancel any subscriptions from there.

Don't listen to any of the above. You MUST spend the rest of your days donating money to the site. Even after your death your nearest relative must continue with this payment or invoke the wrath of the powers that be. There is no escape.
